I recently had the opportunity to assist numerous members prepare for compliance with the Department of Labor overtime regulations, but one member interaction stands out. The member was having difficulty explaining to the executive team that a number of positions should be reclassified as nonexempt. I was able to provide the member with a comprehensive analysis detailing the reasoning behind proper classification. The member presented that review to the executive team enabling them to achieve compliance. Knowing that I had not only positioned my contact for success, but provided her with a sense of relief, was a great feeling.
