On September 24, 2019, the U.S. Department of Labor published its final rule to increase the salary level requirement for employees exempt from the minimum wage and overtime requirements of the Fair Labor Standards Act from $23,660 to $35,568. This rule is expected to make an additional million American workers eligible for overtime. Please join Employers Council's Brent Johnson for a discussion of the new rule, what it changes, what it doesn't, and strategies and options for coming into compliance by January 1, 2020.
