I had a main member contact at a small organization that did not have any HR experience when we first spoke. She explained to me that she had just recently been assigned HR responsibilities because the organization was growing. Fortunately, we were able to help her become more confident and comfortable in the HR role by devising a compensation structure with appropriate pay ranges, on-boarding new employees with proper paperwork and best practices, and developing a system for HR recordkeeping compliance. As a result, this contact is now able to appropriately assist this rapidly growing organization with the HR function.
